ROXBURY, NJ – Updated plans for the proposed Shops at Ledgewood Commons shows the former Ledgewood Mall site on Route 10 will have at least six places to get food.

In addition to the eateries currently at the site – Red Lobster and Wendy’s – the new mall will have a Five Guys Burgers & Fries, a Starbucks, a Chipotle Mexican Grill and a Panda Express Chinese Kitchen, according to the current plans.

A site drawing published by a realty company involved in the site shows no other new businesses beyond those already revealed by the developers: 24-Hour Fitness, DSW, Ulta and Five Below. About 131,000 square feet of the 470,000-square-foot new mall remains without confirmed or proposed occupants, according to the drawing.

Existing retailers expected to remain at the site are Marshalls, Ashley Furniture, Barnes & Noble, Men’s Wearhouse and Lemon Tree Family Salon. A new Walmart Supercenter is being built as the mall’s main anchor.

The developers refer to the DSW, Chipotle, Panda Express, Five Guys and Starbucks as being “proposed” tenants while the others are categorized as “leased.” A source involved in the project said the establishments labeled as being proposed are considered to be “assigned” to spaces in the mall but have not yet signed leases.

The largest of those proposed/assigned spaces, almost 16,000 square feet, is earmarked for the DSW store. The new restaurants are being slotted for spaces about 2,000 square feet in size, according to the document.

The Walmart will take up about 164,000 square feet.

The developers’ website says the new mall is “set for an October 2020 grand opening. In February, the project received final approval from the Roxbury Township Planning Board.
