MORRISTOWN, NJ - Roxbury lawyer Heather Darling is now a Morris County freeholder.

The Republican, whose office is in Succasunna, was sworn-in to a 3-year term at the start of the board's Jan. 5 reorganization session. Darling won election to the post in November. She replaces former Morris County Freeholder Hank Lyon, of Montville, who did not seek re-election.

Darling won the GOP nomination for the freeholder seat by narrowly beating three other GOP candidates: Dave Scapicchio, Nicholas Platt and Mike Crispi. She then beat Democrat challenger Rozella Clyde in the general election.
