ROXBURY, NJ - The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is offering local businesses the opportunity to get their names in front of hundreds of community-minded people next month by becoming sponsors for the annual Lake Loop.

The Lake Loop, taking place this year on Oct. 7, is a fundraiser for the non-profit group. It is a bicycling, running and paddling "challenge" that starts at Hopatcong State Park in Landing.

"We invite you to become a sponsor for this unique community event, providing you a valuable publicity opportunity within the Lake Hopatcong community spanning four towns and two counties along with many surrounding areas," said the foundation in a press release. It said sponsors will help it continue “to improve Lake Hopatcong for everyone, now and for generations to come.”

Diring the Lake Loop, participants get to see "breathtaking views of Lake Hopatcong" while choosing from a 20-, 40- or 62-mile scenic bike ride and/or a 1.5-mile or 5K adventure trail run/walk and/or a paddle on the lake, according to the foundation. "Attendees can take part in one, two or all three events and wrap up their day with food, music and fun," said the group. "Teams are encouraged to take part."

Sponsorships could be tax-deductible as the Lake Hopatcong Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit "dedicated to the improvement of the lake and surrounding communities and has been at the forefront of multiple initiatives to advance this mission."

In its statement, the foundation board expressed thanks to the businesses that served as past Lake Loop sponsors and expressed hope they would continue. "It is only through your support that we can continue our numerous efforts on behalf of the lake," it said.
