ROXBURY, NJ – Southbound drivers on Landing Road who want to get on Route 80 East will have to take the long way tomorrow.
That’s because contractors for the state Department of Transportation (DOT) plan to close the ramp to the highway in preparation for infrastructure work.
Southbound Landing Road (County Route 631) traffic will be barred from using the eastbound Route 80 ramp starting at 8 a.m. The closure is expected to stay in effect until 4 p.m., said the state.
Motorists will be directed to continue driving south on Landing Road. They will then have to take Route 46 East, get off at the Drake Road jug-handle across from Legends Car Wash, double back onto Route 46 West and then get onto the Route 80 East ramp, said the DOT.
“If work is completed early, the road will reopen sooner,” said the state. “The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.”
The DOT said the closure will allow I.E.W. Construction Group to install construction barrier, necessary for “priority bridge repairs.” It urged drivers to check its traffic information website (www.511nj.org) for real-time travel information.
