Prosecutor, Montville P.D. Still Hoping to Find Missing Man

MORRISTOWN, NJ - Authorities are still hoping somebody will come forward with information about a Montville man who disappeared 33 years ago, they said today.

Thursday marks the 33rd anniversary of the disappearance of the man, Edward DuBarry, then in his mid-thirties, from Montville, said the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. The office, in a statement said police and DuBarry's family remain hopeful he will be found "notwithstanding the passage of time."

It said DuBarry was last seen Sept. 7, 1984. The life-long Montville resident, was last seen near Church Lane and Two Bridges Road in the Towaco section of the township, according to the prosecutor's office. "At the time, he was driving a 1974 white Chevrolet pick-up truck," said the office. It said the truck was found a week later at Resort Point on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware Water Gap.

DuBarry has scars on his chin, right elbow and fingers, upper dentures and a previously fractured wrist, said the prosecutor.

Investigators determined DuBarry’s credit card was used to pay for a room at the Howard Johnson Hotel at 551, Route 211 East, in Middletown, N.Y. on the day DuBarry was last seen, said the prosecutor's office. It said the card was also used twice more on that day, once at the Columbia Truck Stop at 2 Simpson Road in Columbia and again at Bartco Penn Petroleum, 10 Stella Street in Matamoras, Pa.  The card was also used four days later, on September 11, 1984 at the Pompton Plains Shell in Pompton Plains, said the prosecutor.

"Over the last 33 years, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Montville Township Police Department have remained committed to finding DuBarry," said the statement. "During the course of the investigation, the prosecutor’s office and the police department have worked with numerous law enforcement agencies, including the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit, the National Park Service, the Pequannock Police Department and the Middletown, N.Y. Police Department. The public is asked to assist the DuBarry family, which continues to work tirelessly with law enforcement to locate Edward."

Anyone with information regarding the possible whereabouts of DuBarry is asked to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Tip Line at (973) 285-6355 or email to mcpotips@co.morris.nj.us.

Thank You Roxbury

November 9, 2017

It is not an easy task to put yourself out there and run for office.

All four of the candidates who ran for Roxbury Township Board of Education had the best interests of our district and its students at heart, and all four of us brought a unique perspective to the table.

Roxbury would have “won” regardless of who prevailed in Tuesday's election.

Bearing that in ...

I Am Voting For Heather Champagne for Roxbury School Board

Today I will be voting for Heather McMurchie Champagne for Roxbury NOW.

Why? Because she is the best candidate for the position, in my opinion.

She has been involved in the community, not just at the school level. She understands what changes need to be made to best benefit the schools and most importantly our children.

Having a child in our schools, Heather is able to see first hand the ...
