FLEMINGTON, NJ – A woman who was a passenger in a Roxbury car crash that followed a police chase in August is on the lam and was named Hunterdon County's "Fugitive of the Week" authorities said.
The woman, Casey Giles, faces charges of theft by unlawful taking in Hunterdon, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, who announced Giles' Fugitive of the Week status today. He said there is a bench warrant for Giles' arrest.
Giles was a passenger in a car whose driver eluded police before crashing in Kenvil last August, police said. The driver was charged with aggravated assault and assault by motor vehicle. Giles suffered minor injuries in that chase.
At that time, police said Giles "was found to have outstanding warrants” from Somerset County and was lodged in Somerset County jail.
Giles’ last known address was in Bridgewater. She is described as 39-year-old female with blue eyes and brown hair. She is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, the release states.
Anyone with information about Giles is asked to contact Det. John Mulligan, Det. Frank Modaffare or Det. Lamont Garnes of the Joint Hunterdon County Fugitive Task Force at 908-788-1129 or their local police department.
