ROXBURY, NJ – It was a losing night Wednesday for both the boys and girls basketball teams from Roxbury High School.
Playing away, the ladies were defeated 45-21 by Morris Knolls. Meanwhile, on the home court in Succasunna, the boys fell 56 to 30 to the Morris Knolls team.
The loss for the girls brings their record to 2-5 while the boys find themselves at 3-5. The Golden Eagles dominated the Gaels in all but one period, the third, when the Roxbury boys scored 13 points to Morris Knolls’ 12.
The girls’ squad got off to a very rough start, going into the second period trailing 10-0. While the Gaels managed to score 10 in the next frame, their opponents racked up 15 and continued to dominate for the rest of the game.
The girls will play again on Friday at 7 p.m. at home against Watchung Hills. The boys don’t play again until Jan. 10, when they take on Morristown in an away game.
