ROXBURY,NJ - The Roxbury High School boys basketball team came away with a big win Saturday after an overtime thriller at home.

The Gaels beat Sparta 56-52 after holding on during regulation to force the extra session.

Kyle Haegele once again led the team in points as he scored 21 in total. Adding to the offense, Trevor Napoliello and Jason Raggi scored big buckets at the end of overtime to secure the victory for Roxbury.

As for the defense, Lucas Spitzer was a pivotal factor, with multiple big defensive plays including two charges drawn to prevent Sparta from scoring. With this win, Roxbury advances its record to 3-0 and remain undefeated in the Holiday Tournament.

The next game will take place on Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. where the Gaels will host Morristown Beard and hope to continue their win streak.
