ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury High School Boys Basketball team defeated the Boonton Bombers on Thursday with a comfortable result of 49-36.
Leading the scoring once again was Kyle Haegele who tallied 18 points. Adding significantly to the victory was Brian Nichols, with 11 of his own, and Trevor Napoliello with 10.
Overall, it was a very well-worked win with impressive team passing and awareness across the court.
The defense kicked in at the start of the second quarter, as the Gaels were trailing 11-15, and allowed Boonton to score only four more points before the end of the half, resulting in a score of 22-19. Roxbury held the lead prominently until the final buzzer.
The Gaels' next game will take place on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. when they will host Morris Knolls and look to advance their record to 11-4.
