ROXBURY, NJ - Roxbury High School cheerleaders recently donated $600 of its fundraising money to Roxbury Social Services.

The donation was a gesture the organization said reflected the cheerleaders' belief in giving back to the community.

"When the Roxbury High School Cheer Program heard that our Social Services was in need, the program decided to step up and support our community, as they have done for us," said Shannon Maldonado, on behalf of the cheerleader parent program.

She said the money was raised through the sale of "Roxbury Pride" face masks with a promise of giving 20 percent of the sale proceeds to Social Services.

The money was presented by senior class cheerleaders on Thursday to Roxbury Recreation Department Director Brett Douglas and Assistant Director Ryan Williams.

"To all that purchased the masks, we thank you for your support," said Maldonado. "We are proud to be part of our Roxbury Family."
