ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury High School ice hockey team on Saturday lost its quest for the Halvorsen Cup, falling to Mendham at Mennen Arena.

The Gaels were defeated 4-2. Roxbury's goals were made by Kevin Keane and Nick Hefferle. Goaltender Ryan Callahan made 19 saves during the game.

The contest brought Roxbury's record to 13-9-2.

The loss doesn't end competition for the team; it will take on Indian Hills on Feb. 28 in first-round NJSIAA State Tournament competition at the Ice Vault Arena in Wayne. Roxbury is seeded 11th and Indian Hills is seeded sixth.

The Gaels have beaten Indian Hills all three times the teams have faced-off since 2015, the most recent being a 6-3 victory on Feb. 9.
