ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury High School girls lacrosse team on Thursday soundly defeated Morris Catholic in a home game that brought the Gaels' record to 10-4.
The game was in the bag early for Roxbury, which scored 10 goals in the first half en route to the 14-6 pounding.
Six of Roxbury's goals were scored by senior middlefielder Melissa Murphy, a team captain. Murphy reached the 100-goal milestone during the game, played on senior night.
Cassidy Miller and Elizabeth Poissant each added two and single points were scored by Mackenzie Pickett, Jenna Segrave, Fiona Sparano and Lauren Tom.
Victoria Koenig, Mary Piccitto and Jessica Pichat shared goaltending. Piccitto made six saves while Koenig and Pichat made two each.
The Gaels next play Kinnelon.
