CHATHAM, NJ - The Roxbury High School ice hockey team lost 4-1 to Chatham on Friday at Mennen Sports Arena.

Chatham took a dominating lead early in the contest, entering the second period with a 3-0 lead. "We want to start fast every time and we did tonight," Chatham coach Brendon Herr said. "We had a little bit of a lull in the second there, but we bounce back in the third."

Roxbury (1-2) broke up a near shutout on a goal by Billy Hefferle in the third period. Cougar goalie Zach Pendergrast came up with nine saves in notching his second win of the year.

The Gaels next play Morris Knolls on Wednesday.
