ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury High School volleyball team defeated Morris Hills 2-0 on Wednesday, the Gaels' third consecutive win, and is now preparing for Morris County Tournament action on Saturday.

Wednesday's victory brought the team's record to 16-5. It came during the same week Roxbury defeated Mendham 2-1 in a contest that saw junior Amber Chen record her 500th kill. She made nine during the match.

The Gaels next take on Jefferson in a Saturday morning Morris County Tournament quarterfinals match at home. Roxbury beat Parsippany in first-round Morris County Tournament action on Oct. 12.

"One of the girls' August goals was to win the Morris County Championship, and they have played well enough in September to put them into a position to go far into the tournament," said coach Anthony McMichael last week. He noted that the team has been forced to deal with a number of injuries, including injuries to several starting players.
