MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - Roxbury High School pitcher Donovan Brady on Monday pitched a 7-inning shut-out against Parsippany Hills, a victory that brought the Gaels' record to 13-7-1.

Roxbury scored two runs in the second inning and a third in the fifth while Brady did his part to keep the Vikings off the scoreboard. In addition to his pitching effort, Brady did well at the plate, smashing a double in the second. That hit was followed with a single by Brendon Hoagland.

Nick Danna also smacked a single, making the bases loaded. Jared Schimenti then knocked in two runs with a single. In the fifth, Will Findlay reached first on an error allowing Michael Roumes to get an RBI with his double to make the score 3 to 0.

The game was a welcome win after a frustrating outing on May 11 against Mendham that ended with a tie.

The game was tied into the tenth inning, but Roxbury pulled ahead, scoring six runs to make it  9-3. Mendham then got some runners on base but the game was called due to darkness, a decision that brought the score back to 3-3.

The Gaels next play Randolph on Wednesday.
