SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD/WESTFIELD, NJ -- Here 2 Help Mental Health Coalition will host “10 Things to Know About Mental Health and Aging” at the Scotch Plains Library (1927 Bartle Ave.) on Fri, Nov. 22, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. 

Dr. Rosalind Dorlen, Psy.D, will present the concept that mental health problems are not a “normal” part of aging and that mental health plays an important role in our physical health. She will present helpful suggestions and steps seniors can take to continue to thrive, grow and enjoy life more fully.

Dr. Dorlen will address stress and its harmful effects on our health, longevity and well-being. She will lead a discussion about the challenges and barriers to receiving help for psychological issues including stigma, transportation, and housing.
