Boys Soccer: Union Catholic Scores Three 2nd Half Goals to Defeat Hillside

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Union Catholic erupted for three second half goals and Conor Reilly made seven saves when the Vikings defeated Hillside, 4-1 on Thursday in Scotch Plains.

Nick Janusz got UC on the board first when he scored the first goal of his career to give the Vikings a 1-0 halftime lead.

Brian Espinosa made it 2-0 in favor of UC early in the second half with his third goal of the season. After Hillside cut the deficit to 2-1, Arthur Almeida scored his second goal of the season, and Kevin Degnan closed it out with his team-leading ninth goal of the year as Union Catholic avenged its 2-1 loss to Hillside last month and improved to 6-2-2 on the season.

Alex Parillo, who had two assists, and Jon DiDario, who had one assist, also played very strong games for UC, who which will be back in action on Thursday at Roselle Catholic.
