On Friday, Jan. 24 at 10:30 a.m., Yasmin Ofek from the JCC of Central New Jersey will present a balance class for adults in the library’s meeting room.
The class integrates principles from the Feldenkrais Method to help create a better connection between the brain and the body, while also strengthening the muscles that keeping the body upright. When you develop awareness of your body through exploring a variety of gentle movements, you can increase your range of motion and achieve better and safer movement in your daily activities. The class will involve sitting and standing alternately, so please come with good sneakers. Registration is required.
This program is in partnership with the Scotch Plains Mayor’s Wellness Campaign. In February, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will present a chair fitness class at the library as part of this winter fitness series.
