Armed Carjacking in Clark During Early Morning Hours on Weds

The 900 block of Lake Ave. in Clark is just below the Scotch Plains border.

CLARK, NJ -- Clark police confirmed a carjacking in the early hours before dawn on Wednesday on the 900 block of Lake Avenue, just south of the Scotch Plains border.

According to  Clark police chief Pedro Matos, a male resident arrived home at approximately 4:30 a.m., and as he sat in his car, two males with handguns approached the sides of the vehicle and ordered the victim out. The suspects took some of the victim’s belongings and the key to his 2012 BMW and fled on Lake Ave. The victim was unharmed during the incident, and the car was recovered in Newark later in the day.

“We believe the victim was followed home. This could have happened anywhere,” Matos said.

“Situational awareness is a good practice especially for anyone who is driving a higher-end vehicle. Being aware of your surroundings as you are getting in and out of your car is something that you should practice,” Matos added.

The suspects in this incident are described as two think black males approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches in height. One male wore a red baseball cap, while the other had dreadlocks. Both suspects had bandanas covering their faces during the incident.

The Missing Moses

A seemingly dubious distinction belongs to this week’s Parshah, Tetzaveh (Exodus 27:20–30:10). It is the only reading in the Torah — from the first Parshah of the book of Exodus (in which he is born) until the end of the book of Numbers — where the name of Moses is not mentioned. Tetzaveh’s opening words are V’atah ...

There is no shortage of polling data related to the functioning of our Federal, ...
