MADISON, NJ -- The Drew University baseball team has placed two players on the All-Landmark Conference Team. Junior shortstop Zach Lipshitz of Scotch Plains was named First Team All-Landmark for the second straight season, while senior outfielder Ryan Sabbag (Palmetto Bay, FL) earned a spot on the All-Landmark Second Team.

Lipshitz, who was named MVP of Drew's baseball team, led the Rangers and ranked second in the league with a .395 batting average. He also posted team-highs in hits (41) and doubles (12), and tied for second on the squad with 32 runs scored. Lipshitz also belted a pair of home runs and tallied 25 RBIs while striking out just four times in 129 at bats. Additionally, he was also named to the Landmark Academic Honor Roll and Google Cloud Academic All-District Team.

Sabbag crushed a team-high five homers, and his .362 batting average was fifth-best in the conference. He collected a squad-best 30 RBIs while also leading the Rangers in triples (2), total bases (73) and slugging percentage (.575). Fifteen of his 46 hits in 2018 went for extra bases.

Drew University, a Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts university, includes the College of Liberal Arts, the Drew Theological School and the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies.
