SCOTCH PLAINSFANWOOD, NJ -- Raiders ace Timmy Geissel and Governor Livingston strikeout artist Cole Schneider traded zeroes for four innings before the Highlanders broke through a pair of runs in the 5th with a two-out rally. They added another run in the 6th and ultimately took a 3-0 victory at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School on Thursday.

Schneider, who was 2-0 with 22 strikeouts in 12 innings going into the game, fanned 9 Raiders over six innings of shutout ball. Scotch Plains-Fanwood managed just three hits on the day. Sean Savage closed the game and preserved the shutout for Gov. Livingston.

Geissel allowed 7 hits and 3 runs and two strikeouts in the complete game effort.

With the loss, the Raiders dropped to 6-7. They play Oratory Prep in round one of the Union County tournament on Saturday. Meanwhile, Gov. Livingston hosts Plainfield also on Saturday.
