SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Ryan Brandl fired a perfect game Saturday to lead the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders 12U baseball team to a 2-0 victory over Colonia in the SPF Classic Tournament at Memorial Field.

Ryan struck out eight batters and retired all 18 hitters, throwing 51 of his 67 pitches for strikes. The left-hander fanned the final Colonia batter to finish the perfect game.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth inning when Weston Fischer laced an RBI double to the left-center field gap scoring George Dursee, who caught the entire game. Ryan singled and scored an insurance run on Dylan Young's double in the sixth. Anthony Malta made a running catch in center field late in the game to preserve the perfect game.
