SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- In the Raiders' season baseball opener, lefty starter Tim Geissel struck out seven in a 9-3 complete game victory over arch rival Westfield at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. It is the Raiders' third straight Opening Day victory over Westfield.

The Raiders jumped out to a 2-0 first-inning lead on a single and a passed ball. Westfield touched up Geissel in the third inning by scoring two runs to tie the game. However, the lefty battled back and retired the side with the bases loaded.
