Baseball: SPF Raiders 9U (White) Jumps Out to Early Lead in Victory Over Mountainside in the District Semi-Final

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ -- The SPF Raiders 9U (White) grabbed an early lead with 8 runs in the first, on its way to a 13-7 victory over Mountainside on Wednesday, June 29.
The Raiders scored on a home run by Luke Murphy, a single by Joe La Rosa, Owen Dimon and Patrick Barnett all in the first inning. 
SPF earned the victory despite allowing Mountainside to score four runs in the second inning. Mountainside's big inning was driven by a passed ball and a groundout.
The Raiders had the bats going early as they collected 15 hits in the game. AJ Parchman, Keith Mann, Joe La Rosa, and Patrick Barnett each collected multiple hits for the Raiders. Joe, Keith, and AJ all had three hits to lead SPF Raiders Baseball 9U (White).
Owen Dimon, Luke Murphy and Xavier Vega's pitching efforts held Mountainside to only 5 hits in the game. Jake Todaro had a solid game behind the plate.
This Raiders have had contributions from all players including Alex Bolton, Thomas Dowling, Brandon Dinizo, and Tyler Glynn.
The boys will play Watchung Hills Friday night 6/30 at Mountainside for the District Championship and have qualified to advance to the New Jersey Ripken State Tournament. is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily paper.
