The Raiders, coached by Tim Dursee, broke open a tight game with a 13-run inning and finished the tourney on a victorious note.

SPF batted around in the fifth inning, fueled by hits from George Dursee, Weston Fischer, Gavin Morrobel, Ryan Brandl, Aidan Dursee, Zach Chung, Matt Higgins, Ryan Cawley, Michael Grill, Anthony Malta, Adam Gross and Ben Masella.  Dylan Young added a hit in the flurry and played a strong game at shortstop. Malta did a superb job behind the plate.

Brandl (3 innings, 3 Ks) and Gross (2 innings, 5 Ks) combined for the victory on the mound. Brandl and Gross also pitched well in tandem during tough losses to Oneonta (8-7) and Bownet Elite (6-4) earlier in the week. George Dursee, Morrobel and Grill (2 doubles) each collected five hits during the tournament to lead the offense. is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s only free daily paper.
