Early detection and early response are key to preventing the spread of any disease—learn how you can quickly and easily contribute important and anonymous data that allows real-time tracking of influenza and COVID-19.

Join SciStarter and the Scotch Plains Public Library online for an introduction to citizen science, and learn how to participate in projects that crowd-source important public health information.  Autumn Gertz of HealthMap will talk about The Flu Near You, a project that has been leveraging the power of the crowd to provide vital data about influenza-like illness for several years, as well as the newer project Covid Near You, launched in March 2020.

Please register on Zoom.

This event is supported by the Scotch Plains Public Library, the Network of the National of Libraries of MedicineAll of Us, and SciStarter.
