SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Special Olympics New Jersey’s delegation at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in July was comprised of over 100 athletes and coaches who became the first USA delegation to be outfitted head to toe with Tommy Hilfiger clothes and accessories.

Among the models in the ad campaign was Scotch Plains' own Benjamin Fei, who when asked to describe himself in three words, chose awesome, good and cool. (And the brand managers said that they "couldn’t agree more.")

Tommy Hilfiger teamed up with Special Olympics this year to "shakeup your wardrobe with our new summer lineup, designed to make getting dressed easy." The brand expanded its innovative disability-friendly clothing line, "Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive," to include new, stylish designs in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Special Olympics.

Fei was honored in the spring by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Baseball League with its David M. Ferro Sportsmanship Award (5th-6th grade Majors Division) on Opening Day. This fall, the entire Fei family (parents John and Jean and big brother Dylan) are for the upcoming OneMoreTri race on Sunday, Sept. 16, to benefit Special Olympics of NJ (SONJ). Last year, their team, GoBenjamin, comprised 33 racers and raised nearly $8,000. "We are very proud of Benjamin and all of his accomplishments," said his dad, John Fei. "Modeling for Tommy Hilfiger and winning the Sportsmanship award were two of many highlights from the year so far."
