Bowling: Union Catholic Celebrates Senior Day with Victory over Roselle

Union Catholic's bowling team celebrated Senior Day on Wednesday with a 3-0 victory over Roselle at Jersey Lanes in Linden. The Vikings are now 10-3 and in first place in the conference. Credits: Jim Lambert

LINDEN, NJ -- The Union Catholic bowling team, ignited by a season best series from Goldera Surles, celebrated Senior Day with a clutch victory over Roselle on Wednesday at Jersey Lanes in Linden.

The 3-0 victory evened the season series with Roselle at 2-2, improved UC to 10-3, and catapulted the Vikings over Roselle into first-place in the Union County Conference standings. UC and Roselle will clash again next week to decide the conference championship.

The senior rolled games of 267, 237, and 243 for a series of 747, her best this season.

John Iannaccone, also a senior, continued his recent surge by rolling a 202 for UC.

In the J.V. competition, UC won 3-0 over Roselle as Isabella Fuentes rolled an impressive series of 529, and Connor Trower had a 207 and a series of 512.
