SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Kaitlyn Lowey, a two-sport standout at Union Catholic, signed her National Letter of Intent with Felician University during a ceremony on Friday in the main lobby of the school.

Lowey, who will continue her bowling career at Felician (located in Rutherford, N.J.), also starred for the Vikings on the tennis court where she was a four-year letter winner and helped lead UC to the Valley Division championship in the Union County Conference the last two years.

The biggest bowling highlight for Lowey, who heads into the upcoming bowling season as a three-year letter winner for the team, came last year when she rolled a remarkable 298.

“I almost didn’t tryout for bowling my freshman year, and now here I am,’’ said Lowey, who lives in Fords. “This is all pretty amazing, and this is a day I will never forget. I feel like I fit in at Felician, and I’m looking forward to going to school there and bowling there.’’
