SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Boy Scouts from Scotch Plains Troop 104 departed for Sabattis Adventure Camp, located in Long Lake, NY, on Saturday morning,

During their week-long stay, the Scouts will set up and maintain their own camp site as well as prepare and cook their own meals. They will take part in camp activities and learn new skills such as climbing, biking, shooting sports, swimming, and boating. The boys will also have the opportunity to earn merit badges such as Bird Study, Canoeing, Cooking, First Aid, Leatherwork, Swimming, and Wilderness Survival. In addition, they will enjoy a camp-wide barbeque and can join in an overnight hike to Charley's Mountain.

The summer campout at Sabattis has been a Troop 104 tradition for over 40 years.
Local residents help to support Scouting by participating in the Troop's annual Popcorn and Camp Card fundraisers which offset the cost of camping equipment and activities throughout the year.
