SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys basketball came up with a big win on Saturday against a tough Cranford team, 63-48. Senior Raul Lugo led the team with 19 points (five three-pointers) with 4 assists and 3 steals. Damon Schumann hit for 10 points and pulled down 9 boards, Jaden Carter added 10 points and 4 assists, and Christian Piesch contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds.

The boys had a big win versus a resilient Oratory Prep squad on Senior Night, 66-63, on Feb. 24. Sophomore Matt Nervi led the team with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Seniors Hayden Widder, Liam Mahr, and Raul Lugo also had strong games. Widder had 12 points and 2 rebounds, Mahr chipped in 11 points and 4 rebounds, and Lugo scored 8 points and had 3 boards.
