Boys Basketball: Union Catholic Celebrates Alumni Reunion Day with Win over North 13th Street Tech

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Riding the hot early shooting of Ibn Lynn and Isaiah Hill, Union Catholic  jumped out to big early lead on the way to 62-42 victory over North 13th Street Tech in front of a big group of former UC players who gathered for a Basketball Alumni Reunion on Saturday.

The Vikings, now 8-4 on the season, opened the game with a 15-0 run and led 19-4 after the first quarter. Lynn scored eight of his team-high 14 in the quarter, and Hill buried a pair of 3-pointers and scored seven of his 11 points in the period.

North 13th Street Tech was able to get within 39-29 late in the third quarter, but UC responded with a 9-4 run to open a 48-33 lead. Amir Britt scored all six of his points in the final quarter and Gio Phillip had five of his seven points in the fourth period to help UC secure the victory.

Justin Archer had another big game for UC with 10 points, six rebounds, four steals, one block and a thunderous dunk. Rob Miller dished out six assists and two steals for UC.

The Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. when they travel to take on Union (5-5 on the season).
