EWING, NJ -- No. 1 Mainland completed its perfect season (15-0) by repeating as Public B champions after defeating Scotch Plains-Fanwood at The College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.

The teams swapped victories through much of the meet. Sophomore Josh Cohen, one of the top freestyle swimmers in the state, gave the Raiders their first victory of the meet by taking the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:40.49. Mainland's freshman phenom, Destin Lasco, who holds the national record for the 200 IM, won with a time of 1:48.91. He also won the 100 Backstroke.

Justin Liu of Mainland won the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle. Alan Shao won the 100 Butterfly. Cohen won the 500 Freestyle for his second individual victory, and Chris Bondarowicz won the 100 Breaststroke, his signature event.

The big difference for Mainland was their performance in the relay races. The Mustangs, who hold national records for both the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay, won both of those races on Saturday and also took the 200 Medley Relay by a wide margin.
