SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood handed previously undefeated Bergen Catholic its first loss of the season, 101-69, at Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) on Tuesday.

Four Raiders swimmers won three or more races:

  • Chris Bondarowicz won the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke and swam on the winning 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.
  • Josh Cohen took the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle and had relay team victories in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.
  • Nick Heath won in the 200 Medley Relay, which he anchored, and 200 Freestyle Relay, and took the 50 Freestyle.
  • Alan Shao finished first in the 100 Butterfly, and was on the winning 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.

Only victories by Bergen Catholic's Kevin Cortright in the 100 Freestyle and Tom Scrivanich in the 100 Backstroke prevented a Scotch Plains-Fanwood sweep.

  • 200 Medley Relay: Chang-Bondarowicz-Shao-Heath, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 1:38.09
  • 200 Freestyle: Josh Cohen, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 1:41.98
  • 200 IM: Chris Bondarowicz, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 1:55.67
  • 50 Freestyle: Nick Heath, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 22.42
  • 100 Butterfly: Alan Shao, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 52.74
  • 100 Freestyle: Kevin Cortright, Bergen Catholic 49.76
  • 500 Freestyle: Josh Cohen, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 4:39.08
  • 200 Freestyle Relay: Rash-Heath-Kenny-Cohen, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 1:31.75
  • 100 Backstroke: Tom Scrivanich, Bergen Catholic 53.77
  • 100 Breaststroke: Chris Bondarowicz, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 59.22
  • 400 Freestyle Relay: Shao- Kenny-Bondarowicz- Cohen, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 3:18.91

The boys host Montgomery in their next meet on Thursday, Jan. 12.
