PERTH AMBOY, NJ – The Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys swim team’s dream of returning to the State finals for the third consecutive year came to an end on Friday as Summit topped the Raiders, 103-67, in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Public B, final.

Summit came out of the blocks with an impressive win in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:39:22. The Raiders rebounded as Josh Cohen took the 200 Freestyle and Alan Shao won the 200 IM. Senior Nick Heath won the 50 Freestyle, and then Josh Cohen won the 100 Butterfly.

Summit’s Jordan Goldberg, the anchor of the 200 Medley, won the 100 Freestyle to stop the SPF’s momentum. The Raiders rebounded with Alan Shao winning the 500 Freestyle, and the team of Cohen, Daniel Donaldson, Heath, and Shao finished first in the 200 Freestyle relay.

Bryan Harvey took the 100 Backstroke, and Jordan Goldberg won the 100 Breaststroke for Summit before Scotch Plains-Fanwood won the 400 Freestyle Relay in the last race of the evening. By that point, Summit had amassed enough points to win the meet.

"Summit was just a little bit deeper than we were this year, but our boys swam well and definitely gave it their all in every race," said Raiders head coach Jess Hulnik. "The boys had a great year, and I am already looking forward to next season."

"Our senior boys, Nick Heath,Tyler Daniskas, Tristan Yang, and Jake Malik did a great job and have represented SPF swimming with pride. They will be missed greatly next season," Coach Hulnik added.
