SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys volleyball team started its season with a home victory over Plainfield by the score of 25-6 and 25-14 on Monday, April 19.

“We are still trying to figure each other out, we’ve had over a week of getting to know each other, and it’s a learning curve,” said Coach Brock Hor. “It’s like an extended pre-season, as I am still working out the lineup. It’s too early to tell, but I have high hopes for our season.”

Nate Sta Rosa served up 6 aces and 13 service points the first set to help lead the way to the teams first win of the match. Jeremy Zimmerman followed up with 4 kills and a dig in the second set to deliver the final blows in what was a convincing victory for the Raiders.

Coach Hor says he is very impressed thus far with the comradery between his team and Coach Adrienne Stack’s girls volleyball team. He said he is especially moved by the vested interest the teams have in each other and is excited to see both programs continue to grow.

“The boys and girls team have fantastic coexistence and a desire to support each other,” said Hor.
