FANWOOD, NJ -- Mara's Cafe & Bakery in Fanwood will hos live music with Bryan Hansen Band and Peter Prasa this Saturday Nov. 21, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Bryan Hansen Band is an adult alternative group that plays a mixture of original and cover songs. The sound is a mixture of funk, rock, blues, and soul. BHB has been seen regularly at Court Tavern in New Brunswick, Dragonfly Music & Coffee Cafe in Somerville, and were featured in Ryan Leslie's showcase in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. They are currently in the studio working on thier second LP, which will be released next spring.

Peter Prasa is a an accomplished songwriter that owns the Dragonfly Music & Coffee Cafe in Somerville with his partner Susan Flaherty. Peter's voice is soulful and smokey. With an arsenal of heartful songs that tell stories of past love and hertache. His album is called "The Best Part Of Me," which was nominated album of the year by the New Jersey Songwriter Awards.

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
