SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- A driver was injured on Route 22 in Scotch Plains when a tree fell and stuck a westbound moving vehicle this afternoon. The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, according to Scotch Plains Police Chief Ted Conley. 

The westbound side of the busy highway came to a standstill as crews cleared away the fallen tree. Eastbound traffic experienced rubbernecking delays.
