Closing of Colorado Cafe in Watchung Stuns Patrons

WATCHUNG, NJ - The Colorado Cafe posted a new message on its Facebook page Wednesday addressing outstanding gift certificates and alerting patrons to save photos before the Facebook page is terminated. 

The Colorado Cafe, a local landmark at 154 Bonnie Burn Rd. in Watchung, closed its doors, according to a posting on the Facebook page on July 4.

The new message reads:
If anyone has passbooks or gift certificates please mail them to Colorado Cafe 
154 Bonnie Burn Rd.
Watchung, NJ 07069
 
Please include a return address and we will send reimbursement. 
 
Thank you.  
 
If anyone would like to save pictures from the page please do so now as the page will be terminated in the next few weeks.

Little information was provided in the post as to why the nightclub was shutting its doors forever after more than two decades:

CLOSED
We are closing our doors forever.

The announcement took patrons by surprise since the cafe had just recently posted its July 2017 events calendar. Many patrons young and old were stunned at the abrupt closing and took to social media to commiserate with more than 2000 comments on its Facebook post as of Thursday morning.

The Colorado Cafe was famed for its country theme, line dancing lessons, and the "Meanest Mechanical Bull in NJ."
