Comedy Night Fundraiser Event to Benefit Multiple Sclerosis Features Comedians Joe Carney and Rich McDonald on May 12

The Clark Soccer Club is proud to pursue community involvement to fight Multiple Sclerosis and vows to “Kick MS” by focusing their spring season on raising awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. The club is offering a variety of ways for the community to get involved and support this worthy cause. 

One event is a comedy night fundraiser featuring Comedians Rich McDonald and Joe Carney with dinner provided by Café Gallo in Edison. The event is being held on Friday, May 12. 

The laughter begins at 8:00 p.m. doors open at 7:00 p.m. at St. Agnes, 332 Madison Hill Road in Clark.  It is a BYOB event. Participants 21 years of age from all towns are welcome to attend.  Proceeds will benefit National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.

Rich McDonald and Joe Carney are a comedy duo who have performed everywhere on the East Coast from Atlantic City to Vermont, locally and nationally. Their act is reminiscent of the great duos such as Martin & Lewis, Abbott & Costello, and Gleason & Carney. Their show features vaudeville sketches, improv games with the audience and some stand-up comedy as well.

They opened for Michael Winslow of Police Academy and most proud to say that they were in the finals of the Tropicana Casino Talent Contest in Atlantic City. Most notably, McDonald and Carney headlined a comedy show at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. They have also headlined a monthly showcase in New York City at the SoHo Playhouse called the McDonald & Carney Comedy Hour as well as the Broadway Comedy Club in NYC, the Garden State Comedy Club, Crossroads in Garwood, and at Tierney’s Tavern for FourFourteen Entertainment.

Additionally, they have numerous television and movie credits between them. You may have seen one them on Live with Regis and Kelly, MTV, TruTV, HGTV or national commercials. They were both stars of the independent film Eternal Damn Natio screened at Cannes Film Festival and is recently being distributed internationally and streaming online domestically.

They performed for the Avis/Budget Rental Car tri-state owners’ conference and in-house entertainment for the Landgrove Inn in Vermont, the Union County Friendly Sons of the Saint Patrick Annual Dinner, American Cancer Society Relay for Life kick-off celebration, the Nomehegan Swim Club annual end of season party, and dozens of Elks, Knights of Columbus’ and charities. They showcased their talents at the Esphrata Performing Arts Center, Middletown Arts Center, Randolph Performing Arts Center, the Jersey City Comedy Festival and at the Thumbs UpState Comedy Festival.
