On Sunday, March 13, volunteers from the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains prepared gift bags with groggers, treats and traditional hamentashen cookies to be delivered to the entire congregation before the Jewish holiday of Purim.  In keeping with the synagogue’s efforts to go green, this year’s gift bags contained reusable water bottles imprinted with Congregation Beth Israel’s logo and stuffed with candy.

Congregation Beth Israel’s Sisterhood also donated Purim gift bags and additional pounds of hamentashen to residents of AristaCare at Cedar Oaks, a nursing home in South Plainfield, and to students at the Hillel of The College of New Jersey.
