SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Several members of the Union Catholic cross-country teams were selected to the All-County and All-Conference teams, and the girls team was chosen as the Team of the Year by the Union County Coaches. 

For the UC girls, sophomore Abby Granrath, who won the Union County Championship and was third at the NJCTC Championship, Penn State-bound Leena Morant, the Watchung Division winner and runner-up at the Union County meet, and Kathryn Power, who emerged as one of the state's top freshman this fall, were all selected to the All Union County and Watchung Division First Teams. Freshmen Elsa Spoor and Maameyaa Nyinah were each named Third-Team All County and Honorable Mention Watchung Division.

The UC girls, loaded with young talent, were chosen as the Team of the Year after winning the Watchung Division title, the Union County Championship, placing second at the State Non-Public A Championships, and finishing 14th at the State Meet of Champions.

On the boys side, sophomore Myles Plummer, who was third at both the Union County Championships and the NJCTC Championships, was named to the Union County First Team and was chosen as an Honorable Mention on the Watchung Division Team. Junior Matt Granizo was chosen First Team Watchung Division and Third Team All County, and senior Zach Turner was named Honorable Mention for the Watchung Division.
