Deadline for Scotch Plains Summer Rec Basketball: June 18

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The final deadline to register for Scotch Plains Summer Rec Basketball will be Sunday, June 18th (Father's Day).

The league will be offered to boys and girls who are rising 3rd - 9th graders (current 2nd - 8th graders).  The Rec Department is planning to offer separate boys' and girls' divisions, but can only do so if there is enough participation.  Otherwise, it will be a co-ed league.

Games will be played on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings on outdoor courts in Scotch Plains from July - August. Each team will play at least one game per week. Additional days may be added based on enrollment and/or make-up games.

The final deadline to submit teammate and/or coach requests was Sunday, June 11th.  While requests are still welcome, they are not guaranteed!

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
