SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ – - The Education Enrichment Foundation of Scotch Plains-Fanwood (EEF of SPF)’s 4th Annual Beefsteak Dinner and Grant Awards Ceremony was held on Thursday March 9th at The Italian American Club in Scotch Plains.

The winter fundraiser was sold out as 220 guests enjoyed delicious food catered by Nightengale Catering, mingled with friends and participated in a 50/50 raffle and Silent Auction/Tricky Tray with baskets, items and experiences valued at over $11,500!

The highlight of the night was the Grant Awards Ceremony, where the EEF Awarded Grants to 37 of Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s Teachers/Principals.  Winners this year included: John P. The winners of the Mirabella Family Leadership Award, named in recognition of the family's longtime support of the LTC 100 program, were also presented with their certificates. The honorees were: Leland S. McGee, Al and Phyllis Mirabella & Margaret Heisey.

The Education Enrichment Foundation of Scotch Plains-Fanwood (EEF) is a volunteer organization that works with the Scotch Plains-Fanwood teaching staff, school administrators & Board of Education to enrich and advance the cause of Excellence in Education for SPF students.  The EEF mission is to Strengthen the Learning Experience.  The EEF does this by enhancing the quality of education in the SPF district by focusing on student achievement & leadership, innovation in the classroom and enhanced learning through technology.  The EEF has developed several programs to support educators in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District, including its Educator Grant program and a Middle School Student Leadership program, LTC 100. The EEF also organizes annual fundraising events to help fund these programs, including a Wine Tasting event in the fall and a Music Fest event in the spring (May 6, 2017).
