FANWOOD - The 3rd annual Fanwood 5K and Family Fun Run was a huge success! The day started at 9:00 AM with the Family Fun Run. At 9:30 it was the start of the 5K. Both events were very well attended. The streets were packed with people wearing T-shirts and shorts, the weather was beautiful and perfect for running, walking, and exercising. There was music, prizes, a zumba warm-up class, and free face painting. Bottles of water, bananas and bagels were made available to everyone.

The 5K race was fully sanctioned by the United States of America Track and Field (USATF) and is part of the New Jersey Grand Prix as a 500 point race.

The event was presented by the Fanwood Recreation Commission. Special thanks to Joe Valente, Recreation Commissioner Chair Person and the organizer of the 5K race.
