Fanwood Companies LYft Hurricane Irma Victims' Spirits with Caffeine Stick Donation

Erik Elfstrum, CEO and co-founder of PureLYft loads shipment of Cafiene Sticks headed to Tampa, Fla for Irma Victims

FANWOOD, NJ -- Pure Mix LLC, makers of the PureLyft Caffeine stir stick in coordination with ReTrans trucking, a Kuehne + Nagel company, sent 30,000 sticks of their All Natural caffeine powder to the Salvation Army Warehouse for the Hurricane Irma victims in Florida.

“The devastation that occurred in Florida may not have directly hit us, but we felt that sending our product was the right thing to do because victims of the storm left without power, may have challenges keeping energized, and getting their caffeine intake to get them through the long days ahead,” stated Erik Elfstrum CEO and co-founder of PureLyft.

The patented stick quickly transforms into a stirrer once you pull the label or pop the bottom off and pour out the caffeine powder into any beverage.

“Since the Salvation Army is already handing out bottles of water it’s the perfect addition for those victims who don’t have power and still want to enjoy the benefits of caffeine,” explained Bill Fleming, CFO/VP of Operations.

With help from Dave Valian, owner Maximus Plastics LLC and co-owner Riemus Solutions, PureLyfts MFG partner, Fleming connected with the Florida Disaster Relief Debt who put them in contact with the Head of the Salvation Army Warehouse in Tampa, Florida.

Steve Dick of the Salvation Army said: “We are very excited to add this product to our relief packages that we have been handing out to the victims of the storm.”  He also mentioned that within two days of the storm the Salvation Army had already given out 350,000 packages and expects to give over 1 million by the time their efforts are done.

The next issue was getting the product there and Fleming didn’t hesitate going to Brian Brady of ReTrans trucking, A Kuekne + Nagel company that has been in business for over 17 years. “We were happy that our friends at PureLyft asked us to be involved and glad that we could help get their generous donation to the Florida victims”

This product delivers the equivalent of a tall cup of coffee. Something people who are victims of natural disasters such as Irma in Florida or Harvey in Houston find it hard to get because of no power. This could become a product that is a staple in future relief packages in years to come and it could all have started with this donation coming out of Fanwood.
