FANWOOD, NJ – Fanwood’s redevelopment consultant Liz Jeffery provided her monthly update to the Borough Council at its meeting on Monday evening.

Public plaza expansion: A construction contract was awarded to A Team Concrete in July. Construction of the pedestrian plaza behind the Martine Ave. stores will commence shortly.

Fanwood Crossing: Following the departure of the Bath Shop on Martine Ave., Monk’s Home Improvement, a Morristown-based company that does interior and exterior painting, windows, carpentry, flooring and other services, has signed a lease in the Fanwood Crossing space on South Ave. across from Mara’s Café.

Station Square at Fanwood: Pile permits will be filed this week. Landmark construction has opted to use quieter pile driving techniques, which should take several weeks to complete.

Ponzio Tract (35 Second Street): Construction is underway.

Frank’s Auto Body: Permits have been issued for expansion of Frank’s Auto Body.

Young’s Paint (1 South Ave.): South Ave LLC purchased the former Young’s Paint property on August 4th. No development plans have been formally submitted to the Borough.

Former A&P property (105 South Ave): Planning is underway for a new residential project with a street-level retail component.
