As a long time Democrat and homeowner in Fanwood, I am voting Column A this June 4th Primary. My husband Mark Brink is running in District 5 for Democratic Committee on Column A and I could not be more proud of him.
The current national and local political climate and negativity has affected me like so many others. I had changed my party affiliation for the first time in my life to non-affiliated earlier this year as I could no longer tolerate the pessimism and gloom. When my husband made the huge decision to run on Column A as a Democratic County Committee Member, I felt so inspired. Right in our own home, he demonstrated to me that good people do run and are worthy of our vote for public service. I know I am biased, but Mark Brink is a truly an honorable man who is a lifelong Union County resident and a loyal project manager for the Union County Improvement Authority.
I, along with many other Fanwood Democrats who we have spoken to in the last couple of weeks, will be voting Column A. Also, voters should know that Column B is mostly uncontested races especially for the largest jobs of Mayor and Town Council so the intensity and proliferation of the lawn signage all over our neighborhoods is truly obnoxious and unnecessary.
Column B is working hard to divide our Democratic Party and the leaders of it have gone rogue. This is not what we need this year before next year’s critical 2020 Presidential election. Column A is uniting us locally and nationally.
I will be very proud to vote Democrat and put Fanwood first and vote Column A on Tuesday, June 4, and ask all those who agree Fanwood is bigger than one person to do the same.
