Fanwood Gets New Sign

FANWOOD, NJ – This past weekend Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr was proud to be part of the unveiling of the newest  “Welcome to Fanwood Sign” .

The sign, sited at the intersection of South Avenue and La Grande Avenue, is the Eagle Scout Project of Ricky Abichandani of Troop 33.

“Scouts and volunteers have spent over 100 hours preparing, installing the sign and landscaping the surrounding area; it’s definitely something we’re all proud to be part of,” said Ricky.  He went on to thank Mayor Mahr, the Fanwood Business Association, the Fanwood Environmental Commission, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club, his Troop leaders, fellow Scouts, and parents for their support and contributions.

"I am always pleased with the Eagle Scout projects. As exemplified by this sign, they always accomplish something worthwhile for the community,” concluded Mayor Mahr.
