FANWOOD, NJ -- Fanwood honored Michele Moore, a member of the Planning Board, as its Volunteer of the Month at the Borough Council meeting on Monday, Sept. 16. Mayor Colleen Mahr presented her with the traditional token of appreciation for volunteer/citizen of the month, the framed print of the iconic Fanwood train station.

Additionally, the Borough continues to honor local service families by honoring them with the Service Flag, which they display in the windows of their homes. The Mayor and Council have awarded one to Irasel Bueno and her partner, Oshanda Erb, who is active in the Air Force. They live in Fanwood and have twin boys.

Oshanda most recently was involved in the Hometown Heroes banner project but volunteers hundreds of hours in many other pursuits related to her military service. Ms. Bueno was on hand to accept the Service Flag from Mayor Mahr.
